Confetto at Devoxx. Read the article by Kevin Nilson.
New Site Feature: the Aggregator, which displays updates from a variety of OSSLine project mailing lists, commit logs, and blogs. It uses the excellent FeedWordPress plugin for (obviously) WordPress, plus some custom PHP templating code to automatically generate the image based on which category the item in is.
Confetto is a conference tool that is currently being used at the Silicon Valley Code Camp. By going to the website page for a session, people can talk, ask questions, and watch chat in other rooms. The creators are giving a Lightning Talk on Sunday November 9th at Code Camp about how it was built.
New project: Chesstools, written by Mario Balibrera, has been added to OSSLine. See the projects page for more details.
November 8: "Willow Chat: Out-of-the-Box Comet Webchat" talk by Michael Carter at Silicon Valley Code Camp.
October 29: Panel on HTML5, Comet, and WebSocket. Michael Carter, who helped write the HTML5 WebSocket spec, is on the panel, which also includes Alex Russell, Dion Almaer, John Fallows, Ted Goddard, and Kevin Nilson.
October 22: Adrian Weisberg is speaking at AJAXWorld on Network Health Monitoring as an RIA. The demo featured in the presentation is powered by Orbited and js.io. See the event schedule for the time. Presentation slides
